Myrtle Street Studio's gallery space has been specifically initiated to fill a gap in Brisbane's current art scene, representing student, emerging and mid-career artists who work primarily in print and paper-based media. The gallery is situated within a working print studio which provides visitors to the space with a physical connection to the origins of many of the works on display.
The gallery and studio are located within the Grange, an inner city Brisbane suburb which provides a professional yet accessible contemporary art space within our local community. We have a particular focus on exhibiting work which provides the general public with exposure to the following:
• Printmaking/Graphic Art/Illustration/Drawing/Textile Art
• Book Arts/Limited Editions/Small Press/Artist Books/Zines
• Paper and Fibre Sculpture/Installations
The gallery provides a mixture of solo and group exhibitions and launches throughout the year which can be viewed in person at the gallery or on-line at the current show. If you are a serious collector or would like to be updated on gallery exhibits, we advise joining our subscription service so as not to miss out on advance news and special offers.
We are currently open for submissions for late 2011 to early 2012. If you are a print or paper-based artist and are interested in exhibiting in our gallery, please contact Myrtle Street Studio for more information. We welcome proposals from local, interstate and international artists.
